At the Fathering Project, we seek to inspire fathers and father figures to become better for the sake of their kids.

If you are not living with your children or with their biological mother – it is really important to remember that your journey as a father will affect your kids’ life. It is all about the kids and this is why your journey as a father matters!
Benefits shown from research
Research has shown that fathers also benefit from fathering. Below are some of the benefits:
- High levels of father involvement are associated with more positive child-father and adolescent-father relationships which are beneficial to both father and child
- Men who are involved fathers are more likely to feel self-confident and effective as parents and to find parenthood more satisfying
- Fathers who are involved in their children’s lives are more likely to be more satisfied with life, and to feel less psychological distress, and have greater empathetic understanding of others
- There is some evidence that men’s emotional involvement with their children can act as a buffer against work related stresses.
