Be aware of unconscious biases

Unconscious biases affect our behaviour towards others – be aware of this, learn to identify when you are perhaps making judgements about someone without reasonable evidence to back it up, and also help your children to be aware of this.

  • Consider how you treat people from other countries or cultures, people with disabilities, etc
  • Make a conscious effort not to pre-judge people
  • Get to know people from different backgrounds to your own, and encourage your children to do so as well
