Build a model together

If you work away from home, travel a lot, or don’t see your children often due to access limitations, here’s an activity to try:

Model airplanes, ships, trains and helicopters, many with remote control motors included, are available for purchase at toy stores and hobby outlets as well as online. Choose a model suitable to your child’s abilities, and spend time when you are together assembling it. Dad Dates

Taking your kids out individually on one-on-one dates is important. It helps your child feel worthwhile when you take time out of your busy work schedule to spend with them. Use this time together to focus on your child - practise listening and encouraging.

Tips:

Call your child’s teacher or sports coach

Even when you are away from home, call your child’s teacher or sports coach to discuss any concerns you may have, or simply to say ‘thanks’.
