Learn about parenting

Take the opportunity to read books and websites, listen to talks and discuss fathering (and, more generally, parenting) with others. We have all had different experiences (good and bad) of being parented, but this should not be our only reference in determining how we will parent our own children.

  • The Fathering Project website and resources are a good place to start.
  • Share your parenting experiences with your partner so you know where you are both coming from as you parent your children.
  • If you learn of an idea you want to try – give it a go, but remember that it may take a while and some perseverance to see results.
