Let them live their own lives

“My approach to the children has been to encourage them and give them every opportunity but to never push them and not to seek any pride for myself in any of their performances.” – Ian Brayshaw, sports journalist.

  • Encourage your children to have their own lives. Don’t live your life through them.
  • It’s good for your child to complete a commitment once they’ve begun. But also respect their choice when they say they are ready to be done.
  • Support your child in their choice of activities. Even when it’s not what you would choose for them.
