The John XXIII College Fathering Project Schools’ Group, Men of John XXIII, commenced on December 2013.

We aim to provide opportunities for fathers & father figures to organise great activities for dads and their kids but also dads only events where fathers & father figures can socialise, network support, learn and share experiences with each other.

We have an organising committee with 16 members and is lead by Jason Waller. The Men of John XXIII have conducted the following successful events.

  • Vinnies Sleepout where Dads and kids sleep out in the school gym and raise awareness of homelessness, as well as funds for the St Vincent De Paul Society.
  • City to Surf Fun Run with teams running at whatever distance is suitable, but then enjoying a BBQ and celebration at the end.
  • Dad’s and Father Figures Social Evenings where keynote celebrity guest speaker have include John Worsfold, Glenn Mitchell and Peter Rowsthorn giving their tips on fathering, while blokes share a drink and ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.

For more information on how to join the group or future activities please contact Jason Waller.
