Position Vacant – Communications & Admin Coordinator

The position is a joint role, incorporating both communications and administrative support to the CEO (60% comms and 40% admin support).

Primarily, the purpose of this role is to support the organisation and specifically the CEO, Wayne Bradshaw, in ensuring all opportunities for effective communications are identified and achieved to grow the reach, grow revenue and to correctly position The Fathering Project as an innovative and high profile organisation.

The role will work with our contract communications advisor to implement the communications plan.

Position Title:                 Communications & Admin Coordinator

Reports to:                       CEO

Location:                           UWA Claremont Campus

Salary:                               $60,000 pa (including super)

Status:                                Full time

Hours:                                37.5 hours per week

 

Organisation Objectives

The Fathering Project seeks to improve child development outcomes by improving the performance of fathers. The Fathering Project undertakes outreach, research and resource development. The core outreach activity is the schools program where fathering groups are created in schools in order to inspire and educate fathers to be better.

Purpose of the position:

Primary tasks and responsibilities:

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Effective Communications
    Support TFP in engaging the broader community to position The Fathering Project as an innovative, informative and a high profile organisation. This will include providing input and implementation across the Communication Plan.
  • Content Creation
    Coordinate the creation, development and publication of content across all available channels – Social Media, Website, CRM, PR, Events etc.
  • Online Profile:
    • Evolve and manage the digital platforms, including the website and social media channels, actively seeking to introduce new functionality to better the user experience
    • Through the coordination and publication of content, increase The Fathering Project reach across social profiles and owned database.
    • Review and implement the plan to increase the reach of The Fathering Project through various channels
    • Expand scope of user information in order to customise content delivery
  • PR/Media
    • Manage the profile of The Fathering Project in the Media – identify media opportunities/partnerships that will enhance/support the message delivery
    • Coordinate and prepare the distribution of media releases, letters to editors and other contributions. Monitor and collate TFP Media Articles
    • Maintain the database and contacts within traditional media sphere (TV, newspaper, radio)
  • Stakeholder management
    • Create and implement strategies to engage and connect with donors, sponsors, ambassadors and supporters of The Fathering Project.
    • Manage the CRM
  • Fundraising
    • Coordinate online campaigns for fundraising
    • Assist in retention strategies for donors.
  • Budget/Finance
    Manage the allocated budget towards activities effectively and efficiently.
  • Monitoring and reporting
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of individual activities
  • Report on analytics, including recommendations on changes required to achieve objectives

Administration support to the CEO

  • Schools Program
    • Support State Coordinators in registration and invoicing of schools
    • Support scheduling of school’s activities
    • Provide assistance in achieving school’s targets
  • General
    • Manage book, printing and merchandise distribution and orders
    • Pay ad hoc bills and send out invoices as requested
    • Manage enquiries, emails and phone calls in a timely manner
    • Assist in the coordination and management of staffing matters and volunteers
  • Other duties as directed by the CEO.

Your skills

  • Tertiary degree in communications or similar
  • Understanding of digital and social platforms and abreast of evolving trends
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in graphic design and video production would be an advantage
