The Lake Macquarie City Council has kindly provided The Fathering Project with funding to support families and schools in the local community. Through their generous support, two schools in the Lake Macquarie region will be selected to receive The Fathering Project Schools Program free of charge for 2025.

- Two fully funded placements available, valued at $1,000 each.
- Open to both primary and secondary schools within the Lake Macquarie area.

The Fathering Project Schools Program
The Fathering Project Schools Program helps schools create a culture of positive father engagement by providing resources, support, and fun events that encourage dads and father figures to be actively involved in their children’s education and wellbeing.

What Is the Schools Program?
The Fathering Project’s Schools Program helps fathers engage in their child’s education through workshops, activities, and guides. It strengthens family-school connections, improving student wellbeing and outcomes. There are already 350+ schools across Australia who have utilised the schools program with great success.

Who Should Apply?
Any primary or secondary school within the Lake Macquarie region that believes in the power of family engagement and can demonstrate a commitment to involving fathers and father figures is invited to apply.

Capacity to host father-focused activities and events.
A long-term vision for sustaining a Fathering Project group within the school community.
