Be there

If you are separated from your partner and have limited access to your children, make sure they know that you will continue to always be there for them.

  • Let your children know you will always be there for them, for the long haul, no matter what.
  • Make a special effort to be there during their tough and emotionally difficult times.
  • Teenagers especially need you to know you are there for them, despite the separation.

Keep a record

Make a note of things about your visit with the children that went well, and things that didn’t. Try to repeat the good things, and make changes to reduce the chances of the not so good things happening again.
