Consistent family routine

Kids thrive on having a steady routine – it provides security and comfort. So establish a set routine for your children that applies whether they are with you or with your partner or ex-partner.

For example, you might make it a rule that any homework must always be completed after school before any technology is switched on; and/or that bedtime is always at 8 p.m. (say).

Eat together

Even with a busy work schedule it is possible to make family meal time a priority.

Cook a special meal once a week or once a month

Cooking together with your children can be fun, educational, and rewarding.
