Draw each other’s portrait

Draw a picture of your child, and ask them to do the same of you. Colour the pictures using crayons, coloured pencils or paint, and then display them to the family. Maybe do this on an annual basis so you have a record of how your child sees you over time, and how they change over that time as well.

Don’t worry if you aren’t good at drawing – just have a go and enjoy spending time with your child and sharing the experience of being creative.

Tips:

Be there

If you are separated from your partner and have limited access to your children, make sure they know that you will continue to always be there for them.

Tips:

Share Dreams

Send notes via email that require the father and child to provide some answers to each other’s questions.
