Encourage learning

Encourage learning and be excited about it. Any time spent together can be a time to teach and to learn.

  • Use examples from around you to pose problems and then work out an answer together.
  • These problems can be anything from basic spelling or maths problems to big questions, like “How could that be done better?”, “Why is that happening?”, “What is the problem here and how could it be fixed?”
  • If you can’t agree on the answer, do some research together to learn more.

Read books together

Use Skype or phone to read together with your child, or read the same books.

Play is more than just a game

Play with your children – for your benefit as much as for theirs.
