Create opportunities to spend longer stretches of time with your children by going away for even just a few days.

  • Go somewhere new, and create new family memories
  • Make the effort to really listen to your children whenever they want to talk
  • As well as doing activities as a family, spend one-on-one time with each child

Tips:

Provide a sense of security

When you put down others you diminish them rather than building them up. Make your home a 'no put down zone.'

Tips:

Ask the mum for tips

Ask your partner or ex-partner how the kids are coping with you being away, and how they like it when you spend time with them, and work on making any changes identified.
