Get the rest you need while you are apart from your children

When you are with your children, make sure you do not waste it. So try to get enough rest when you are apart so that you are fresh when you see the children again. Remember a big night out or two while you are away from the children will be at the expense of energy and enthusiasm when you are back with them. Your body does need time to adapt so plan that in to your return timetable. Both jet lag and heavy work rosters make most of us less sociable and less patient with our children.
