Link up with other FIFO families

If you do FIFO work, here’s a tip:

Link up with other FIFO families in your area, particularly if you are not living close to extended family or established networks of friends. This can give you and your family the opportunity to share experiences. You can also give and receive support when needed.

Just the knowledge that you are not alone in grappling with some of the issues of FIFO working can be helpful.

Your employer may organise networks for families. Alternatively groups such as organise local events around Australia.

Eat together

Even with a busy work schedule it is possible to make family meal time a priority.
