Make an obstacle course in the backyard

Use whatever you can find (outdoor furniture, sports equipment, toys, building materials, etc) to build obstacles for your children to climb over, crawl under and jump through. Then time the kids as they run the course. Challenge them to improve their times, or gradually make the course more difficult to improve their skills.

Tips:

Learn about becoming a better father

Very few men are “naturals” when it comes to fathering and mentoring. Recognise this and take steps to learn more.

Tips:

Raise your kids to be adventurous

Don’t wrap your children in cotton wool and try to protect them from the world and all its dangers. Instead, teach them to recognise and manage the risks in a situation so they can confidently challenge themselves.
