Board games are a great way to spend time with your children – there are hundreds of different types available in the stores, or you can often pick them up cheaply from charity shops or garage sales. Choose something age-appropriate, and take the time to teach your child how to play. Snakes and Ladders, Battleship, Monopoly, Pictionary, Cluedo, and Scrabble are all classic games you can try.

Plan ahead

If you work away from home or travel a lot, here's a tip: a little planning can help make your spare time while away from your children more valuable.

Impacts when fathers reunite with children

Be aware that your children have coping strategies in place while you are away from them – don’t be too hasty in making judgements when you see your children again.
