Cooking with Cameron: Pork and apple burgers

Burgers! A simple and tasty recipe for the whole family. Pork and apple just go hand in hand. But I also have added turkey mince (normally cheaper than pork) and it just takes on the flavours you add. The grated apple helps keep the paddy nice and juicy. Then its just up to you what you add with the burger.

Ingredients

  • 800g Pork mince
  • 500g Turkey mince
  • 2 red apples
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/3 cup Vietnamese dipping sauce
  • Garlic Aoli

 Veggies

  • Red onion – finally sliced
  • Beetroot
  • Pineapple – sliced
  • Tomatoes – sliced
  • Lettuce
  • Boiled egg

Method

  1. Combine mince, grated apple, sauce, egg and bread crumbs in a bowl.
  2. Heat grill. Grab a handful of mince mix and shape into a paddy and place it on the grill. Repeat until mince is used up. Approx 10. Cook for 8min, turning twice, or till cooked through.
  3. Slice up tomato and onion, prep the burger bun with Garlic Aoli.
  4. Build the burger and enjoy!
