As we begin Men’s Health Week, we hear from Dr Bruce Robinson who shares his top three tips to stay healthy both mentally and physically.
With a difference in life expectancy between males and females, it’s important men take extra care of their health and seek out a lifestyle that is beneficial for their life.
Devastatingly, men also take their own lives at four times the rate of women (that’s five men a day, on average). Accidents, cancer and heart disease all account for the majority of male deaths.
This Men’s Health Week, make it a goal to look after yourself, and continue to make healthy decisions so you can have the best future for yourself, your family and your kids.
Top tips for staying healthy
- Look after your physical health. Make the time to get out and exercise. It doesn’t have to be strenuous, just something that gets you moving!
- Practice self care and implement strategies that assists you mental health. Take breaks from work and make times for things you enjoy.
- Confide in your mates. Having the courage to say what’s in your heart and talk with mates. Sometimes it can be difficult to let your guard down, but it’s important.
