Men’s Health Week

As we begin Men’s Health Week, we hear from Dr Bruce Robinson who shares his top three tips to stay healthy both mentally and physically.
With a difference in life expectancy between males and females, it’s important men take extra care of their health and seek out a lifestyle that is beneficial for their life.

Devastatingly, men also take their own lives at four times the rate of women (that’s five men a day, on average). Accidents, cancer and heart disease all account for the majority of male deaths.

This Men’s Health Week, make it a goal to look after yourself, and continue to make healthy decisions so you can have the best future for yourself, your family and your kids.

Top tips for staying healthy

  1. Look after your physical health. Make the time to get out and exercise. It doesn’t have to be strenuous, just something that gets you moving!
  2. Practice self care and implement strategies that assists you mental health. Take breaks from work and make times for things you enjoy.
  3. Confide in your mates. Having the courage to say what’s in your heart and talk with mates. Sometimes it can be difficult to let your guard down, but it’s important.
