How our school programs work?
Our evidence-based programs support schools to effectively engage students, fathers and families and build strong community partnerships for the lifelong benefit of students. Programs include:
- Evidence-based information for fathers on relevant topics such as supporting learning, positive discipline and encouraging resilience.
- Events and activities for schools to share with fathers and families to build engagement, skills and knowledge.
- Step-by-step support, tools and professional development resources for staff.
Our research shows a three year commitment provides optimal outcomes for schools, fathers and students.

FAQ's about our Schools Programs
This is a school-led program and will require a nominated member of staff to be the Program Coordinator. This is typically someone from the Student Wellbeing team. Ideally there will be two or more dad volunteers to support.
The Fathering Project’s Dads Group Team will work closely with the Program Coordinator and dad volunteers to help implement the program.
The Operations Team will provide an induction session and train the Program Coordinator to navigate the online portal resources and tools.
Typically, the best time is a mid-week evening when most dads have finished work for the day.
We encourage mums to seek out a father figure from their family and friends circle e.g. grandfather, uncle, or any positive male role model. If this is not possible, then Mum can bring her child to the dads and kids’ activity. No child will miss out!
We have a team of accredited dads group presenters who will be available to come and speak at the launch event.
